Overview
Chicago has been chosen as one of four cities in the world competing to become the host of the 2016 Olympics. With Chicago chosen as the only American city to be considered for this honor, the Chicago2016 Bid Committee is hard at work to make sure the world knows “Why Chicago” is the best city to host such an amazing event.

About This Site
This site is a way for US, the people of Chicago, to bring our voice to the Chicago2016 Bid movement. We’re here to tell the story of Chicago in its bid to host for the 2016 Games. Our site aims to give Chicagoans a chance to have their say about why and how the Olympic and Paralympic Games should come to our city.

We’re going to be as open and transparent as possible. For example, some of us have been hired by a firm that does social media, which has been contracted by Chicago2016 to create a place online for the community of Chicago.

We’re serious about representing all points of view here, and taking all questions. Many of the people who are submitting content for this site have made a career out of their dedication to this city, its people, and its history.

There are numerous stories to be told and we want to hear every one of them. Our city is a treasure chest of multiple languages, cultures, cuisines, sports, entertainment and pride. This community aims to bring us all a little closer together and, who knows, you may learn something new about Chicago.

We believe the community has the power to show Chicago’s vibrance, character and spirit like no one else. With step-by-step instructions and a simple registration process, we have made it our goal to make participation easy for everyone.
